To prevent backflow, there is a solution. A standard clamp arrangement can be fitted to the waste pipe (1 1/4" or 1" 1/2"). The Gap Trap can be screwed straight in. This neat little fitting has a trap built in and this stops any smell from coming back through. A 3/8" or 1/2" Air Gap can then be glued on the top. The whole thing only stands 200mm (8") tall and can almost always be fitted under the kitchen sink. Please note that the low flow option can only handle a flow rate up to 1.6 l/min and this isn't high enough for some softeners.
