TopSpec TopChop Zero is a natural product made from chopped British oat straw with added apple flavour and mint for palatability. It contains no added molasses or sugar coating.Designed for overweight horses and ponies, TopChop Zero provides an exceptionally low-calorie source of mature forage. With a DE of 4 MJ/kg, it is lower in nutritional value than late-cut meadow hay (DE 7-8 MJ/kg) and serves as an ‘empty calorie’ fibre source to extend forage and reduce overall nutritional intake. Horses can nibble TopChop Zero when grass, hay, or haylage is unavailable, maintaining hindgut fibre supply and supporting digestive health.Developed at the TopSpec Equine Research Centre, TopChop Zero is approved for most horses with good teeth. It is ideal for overweight horses, those prone to laminitis, and horses eating haylage that is too rich, which may cause loose droppings.
