The McAlpine WM14V is a plumbing trap designed for use with domestic appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines. It is an anti-syphon (Silentrap) 'P' trap, which means it is designed to prevent the backflow of wastewater from the pipework and prevent airlocks in the system. The trap has a 75mm water seal to prevent foul odours from entering the room, and a 1.5" multifit outlet for easy connection to standard pipework. It also features a 135 swivel inlet connection, which allows the discharge pipe from the appliance to be connected at an angle that is convenient for installation. The anti-syphon feature of the WM14V trap prevents the siphoning of water from the trap, which can lead to airlocks and the release of unpleasant odours. This feature ensures that the trap remains full of water, creating an effective barrier to prevent the backflow of wastewater. The WM14V is designed as a tubular swivel trap, meaning that it consists of a curved section of pipe that creates a water seal. This water seal prevents unpleasant smells from entering the room, as well as preventing the backflow of wastewater from the pipework. Overall, the McAlpine WM14V trap is a reliable and easy-to-install solution for ensuring a clean and efficient waste system for domestic appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines. Its anti-syphon feature, 135 swivel inlet connection, and 75mm water seal make it a versatile choice for a range of installation scenarios. 75mm Water Seal 1.5" Multifit Compression Outlet suits all plastic, copper and lead pipe Can accept discharge from a washing or dishwashing machine Supplied with blank plug allowing trap to function as a normal sink trap until the domestic appliances are connected Available as Anti-Syphon (Silentrap).
